Rethinking Modern Asia-Pacific Architectures

The Melbourne School of Design will be hosting a postgraduate student plenary: Rethinking Modern Asia-Pacific Architectures on 6 July 2016 held in collaboration with the University of Hong Kong and the National University of Singapore.
Organised by John Ting at the University of Canberra, Sidh Sintusingha at the University of Melbourne and David Beynon at Deakin University, the plenary is designed to mentor students from participating institutions in writing and presenting publication-ready academic papers.
Students have worked closely with their supervisors to frame the methodologies used in their research and a group of international scholars have reviewed their papers. Collaborating international academics who will accompany their students to the plenary include Cecilia Chu and Eunice Seng from HKU and Jiat-Hwee Chang and Lilian Chee from NUS. Students are also drawn from several institutions in Australia including The University of Melbourne, Deakin University and the University of Adelaide.
The plenary is funded through an International Research and Research Training Fund workshop grant from the University of Melbourne led by Anoma Pieris and is linked to the workshop: Spaces in transition: globalisation, transnationalism and urban change in the Asia-Pacific, 4-5 July, 2016, at the Melbourne School of Design.
