Exploring Green Construction : Prelminary Thoughts, Reinhold Martin, Professor of Architecture Professor of Architecture in the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at Columbia University, Reinhold Martin discusses and reviews recent work on infrastructure, politics, and society at the Temple Hoyne Buell Center for the Study of American Architecture at Columbia University, with a focus on the Buell Center’s long-term project, POWER: Infrastructure in America.

Reinhold, in addition to his previously mentioned roles, also directs the Temple Hoyne Buell Center for the Study of American Architecture at GSAPP, and is a member of the Center for Comparative Media. A founding co-editor of the journal Grey Room, Martin’s books include The Organizational Complex: Architecture, Media, and Corporate Space (MIT, 2003), Utopia’s Ghost: Architecture and Postmodernism, Again (Minnesota, 2010), and The Urban Apparatus: Mediapolitics and the City (Minnesota, 2016). His new book, Knowledge Worlds: Media, Materiality, and the Making of the Modern University, is forthcoming from Columbia University Press.
