Join ACAHUCH Co-Director Professor Philip Goad as he discusses Robin Boyd's first trip to Japan in 1961 to research his book on Kenzo Tange, and his subsequent journeys as exhibit curator for the Australian Pavilion at Expo ‘70 Osaka.

Boyd was a prolific and keen-sighted documenter of all things Japanese. Goad will explore scenes that caught Boyd’s eye, including his fascination with the unconventional architecture of many national pavilions.

This talk is part of the When Robin Boyd Went to Japan exhibition public program taking place at Walsh Street from 18 February – 10 March 2024 – Find out more.

Curated by Marika Neustupny and Nigel Bertram, When Robin Boyd Went to Japan is a collaboration between the Robin Boyd Foundation, NMBW Architecture Studio and CIBI.
